The May 2012 Heritage Fair will be the fifth annual fair organized in Terrace for our region. Each year's event has been a unique and exciting celebration as we explore our heritage and in helping learners make connections with our rich Canadian Heritage.
This year we have decided to extend the length of our fair to allow for greater oppurtunities for community members and students to particpate in a variety of activities. These activities will include heritage tours, performances, cultural workshops and hands on activities. Some events will occur during the school day and some in the afternoon. We welcome individuals and groups who wish to participate to email us any questions you have.
Students who will be presenting projects will be engaged in a full day of activities on Monday May 7th. At the end of the day, student Display Boards (but not artifacts) will be left set up in a secure display area in the mall for the remainder of the week for classroom tours.
On May 8th to 11th, we will organize a series of tours and events for classrooms. Teacher's can sign up for a time to come and view the exhibit in the mall during the week and then participate in one of our incredible tours. Please read the tour descriptions and select a tour that best matches your students abilities. Transportation will be provided for the tours from Skeena Mall. If you are considering joining us with your class for one of the tours please complete our tour registration page.
We hope to have over 1000 students and members of the public join us during the week, so please register your intent early so that we can best meet everyone's needs. If you will be bringing students with projects complete the Participant Registration Form. |
